What this service is
A single 90-minute conversation with Geoffrey, online via video call (in person by arrangement only). One session is $400; a ten-session package is $3,500. The work is coaching. It is not medical care, psychiatric care, psychological treatment, or therapy. Geoffrey does not diagnose or treat medical conditions. If you are in crisis, please contact your physician, a licensed clinician, or 988 (the U.S. Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
Booking and payment
When you book, your card is authorized but not charged. Stripe holds the amount; the hold becomes an actual charge 24 hours before your session. Until then — if you cancel or Geoffrey can’t confirm — the hold drops automatically with no charge to you. Geoffrey personally reviews each request and writes back within 24 hours.
- If Geoffrey confirms and the session stays on the calendar: your card is charged 24 hours before the session.
- If Geoffrey can’t accommodate the time or the request isn’t a fit: the hold is released, typically within a few business days. You’re never charged.
Payments are processed by Stripe. By booking, you authorize Stripe to hold and (24 hours before your session) charge the amount displayed.
Confirmation and video call
Once Geoffrey confirms, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a video call link for the session time. Showing up on time and on a working connection is your responsibility.
Cancellation and refunds
- More than 24 hours before your session — cancel for any reason. The card hold is released; you’re never charged. (No refund needed because no money moved.)
- Within 24 hours of your session — non-refundable per policy. Life happens — write to Geoffrey and he’ll consider exceptions case-by-case. Any discretionary refund Geoffrey issues is minus the payment processor’s fee (approximately 3% + $1; Stripe doesn’t return their fee when a refund is processed, so it’s subtracted from the refund amount). For a single session ($400), that means up to $387 refunded. For the 10-session package ($3,500), up to $3,394 refunded.
- No-shows — non-refundable.
- If Geoffrey can’t confirm your booking — the card hold is released, typically within a few business days. You’re never charged.
- Package sessions can be rescheduled once at no charge. Repeated rescheduling may carry a small fee — it blocks someone else’s slot.
No insurance, no medical record
Sessions aren’t covered by insurance and don’t generate a medical record. Don’t send protected health information by email or in the booking notes.
Limitations
The conversation is offered in good faith. Nothing said in a session constitutes medical, legal, or financial advice. To the maximum extent permitted by California law, total liability for any claim arising out of or related to a session is limited to the amount paid for that session.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
Changes
If these terms change, the effective date at the top changes with them. Bookings already confirmed at the time of a change are governed by the terms in effect when they were confirmed.
